Utah Administered 46K Vaccines In A Day

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah on Thursday reported an additional 46,011 vaccines have been administered.

So far, 1,410,214 Utahns have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

More than half a million of the state’s residents have been fully vaccinated.

The Utah Department of Health reported 487 people have tested positive for COVID-19, and three more have died.

Currently, 136 people are hospitalized with the virus.

Testing

UDOH reports 2,394,649 have been tested so far, which is an increase of 7,661 since yesterday.

Of those, a total of 386,128 people have tested positive for COVID-19. That’s an increase of 487 new positive cases over Wednesday’s numbers.

The rolling 7-day average for positive tests is 411 per day.

The rolling 7-day average for percent positivity of “people over people” is 6.8%. The rolling 7-day average for percent positivity of “tests over tests” is 3.4%.

All three of those trends are down from a week ago.

Hospitalizations

There are 136 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19, and 50 of those people are in intensive care units.

Utah’s ICUs are 67.1% occupied. The ICU beds in the state’s referral centers are 69.8% full.

Deaths

Three more of the state’s residents have died as a direct result of COVID-19. To date, the virus has killed 2,125 Utahns.

The following individuals’ deaths were reported Thursday:

  • Female, between 65-84, Washington County resident, hospitalized
  • Female, between 65-84, Weber County resident, hospitalized
  • Male, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized

Vaccinations

Utah administered 1,410,214 vaccines, which is an increase of 46,011 from Wednesday’s report.

So far, 925,628 people have received at least one dose, and 521,686 Utahns have been fully vaccinated.

There have been 1,628,520 vaccines delivered to the state.
