UHP Beefs Up Easter Weekend Traffic Patrols

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Highway Patrol beefed up its schedule to put more troopers on the road for this Easter Weekend’s increase in traffic.
A news release said UHP will have 50 extra DUI and 84 traffic enforcement shifts this weekend on the road to zero fatalities.
The extra patrols will start Friday and run through Monday.
Each night of the weekend will come with a statewide DUI blitz.
Spring break started last weekend for many school districts and it begins this weekend for several others.
Last weekend UHP troopers made nearly 2,000 traffic stops and arrested seven people for DUI.
