SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The National Weather Service on Sunday issued a red flag warning for portions of the state amid high temperatures and winds.
The warning is in effect for areas in Carbon, Emery, Wayne, Beaver, Iron and Washington counties Monday. Some warnings will remain in place through Tuesday.
Two red flag warnings went into effect Sunday in Duchesne and will continue into Monday.

Winds between 15 – 25 miles per hour are expected, and there could be gusts of up to 30 – 40 miles per hour. This, along with low humidity and warm temperatures, can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
Authorities said any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly, and they urged residents not to burn anything outdoors.
