CLEARFIELD, Utah — One Utah man was arrested for allegedly threatening to kill a Utah Transit Authority worker after she asked him to turn his loud music down and put on a mask.

Officer Bryant Wade Adams with the Unified Transit Authority Police said he was dispatched to the Clearfield FrontRunner station on Saturday after hearing a report of a man threatening to beat up a train host while aboard the train.

Before officers arrived, the man, who was later identified as 39-year-old Adam Robin Green, exited at the Clearfield station and the train continued on.

“As I was responding to the station, I could see on camera that the male was pacing back and forth on the platform throwing stuff around,” Adams recalled in a probable cause statement. “The male appeared to be very agitated.”

When Officer Adams attempted to speak to Green, he allegedly made several comments that he was not going to stay and had to leave.

“When I told him that he was not free to leave he squared off to me and told me that he was going to (expletive) me up and that I was going to have to shoot him in order to make him stay,” Adams wrote in the PC statement.

Adams eventually convinced Green to sit on the ground and recount what happened on the train.

“Adam advised that the girl (train host) approached him and told him to wear a mask. Adam told me that he told the train host approached him three times and he told her to stay back six feet and if she comes near him we was going to (expletive) her up,” read Adams’ account.

Officer Adams said Green threatened to shoot him several times before making a comment about killing the train host.

“He told me that he was trained to kill and when he gets out she (train host) will be dead. He also made comment that if I lay hands on him he was going to (expletive) me up,” Adams wrote in the PC statement.

Officers had previously dealt with Green in Salt Lake, according to the probable cause statement, and had told him to stay away from all UTA property for seven days.

Authorities said Green became physical while they were searching him.

“Adam continued to tell us that he was going to (expletive) us up and if he wanted to hurt us he could have,” recalled Officer Adams.

Green was then shackled and placed into another UTA officer’s vehicle.

He allegedly became very agitated and threatened to knock the officers out if they tried to touch him.

When it was determined that Green needed a more thorough search to ensure he didn’t have any weapons on him, Green became aggressive.

“Adam then swung at me a couple of times almost coming into contact with my face,” Adams wrote in the PC statement. “He then kicked in the shoulder/arm a couple of times.”

Authorities located drug paraphernalia in one of Green’s pockets during the search.

When asked about the situation on the train, the train host told officers she asked Green to turn down his music and put a mask on. According to the probable cause statement, he yelled at the train host saying he had a knife.

“The train host advised that the male at one point stood up and started to move towards her saying that he was going to kill her if she makes one more step towards him. The train host advised that she was scared and didn’t know what to do other than to move away from him because she felt that he was going to stab her,” read the PC statement.

The affidavit said Green was arrested on charges of assault, assault against a police officer/military service member, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, interference with arresting officer and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
