SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Two people were taken to the hospital after they were shot during an incident at The State Street Boxing Gym in downtown Salt Lake City, police said.

Police were notified of the shooting at 854 S. State Street just after 3:30 a.m. Sunday, according to Lt. Steve Wooldridge with the Salt Lake City Police Department.

When officers arrived, they found two men with gunshot wounds — one was struck in the hand and the other was struck in the leg.

Shell casings were also located at the scene, according to Wooldridge.

Wooldridge said the 18-year-old man and 32-year-old man were transported to area hospitals in stable condition.

Additional information about the shooting, including the victims’ identities, were not immediately available.
