Suspect Arrested In Sandy Drive-By Shooting That Injured Two Boys

SANDY, Utah – An 18-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting in Sandy that injured to boys.
Officials with the Sandy Police Department said they took Tyson Connor Rocco into custody Saturday night.
The shooting happened near 8800 South and 200 East Friday afternoon. Police said the 12-year-old and 14-year-old boys were on the side of the road when a white car pulled up and a gunman started firing.
Both boys were from Midvale. It was not clear if the boys and Rocco knew each other.
“We hate to see these young kids involved in these types of incidents,” said Sgt. Clay Swensen.
The boys were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Rocco was faced multiple charges, including attempted aggravated homicide.
