Woman Killed In Murray Stabbing; Juvenile Suspect In Custody

MURRAY, Utah – A 34-year-old woman died after being stabbed Thursday night, according to officials with the Murray Police Department.
Police said the victim, Melissa Wood, was involved in a confrontation with a 16-year-old suspect in a parking lot near 4400 South Brick Oven Way.
Officers later located the suspect who was taken into custody and booked into juvenile detention.
Police said their investigation is ongoing and the juvenile’s name was not released.
Officials did not say whether the suspect and Wood knew each other and no motive has been established.
