Utah Business Celebrates Growth On National Pretzel Day

MILLCREEK, Utah – One local soda and sweets company is celebrating National Pretzel Day as its pretzel bites have helped it grow from one store to a company with 150 employees, three locations and a catering business.
“Pretzels have become such a large part of our business and it’s really allowed us to become more than just a soda shop more than just for people who love Diet Cokes and Mountain Dews,” said Ethan Cisneros, owner and CEO of Thirst Drinks.
The 24-year-old is pretty proud of Thirst Drinks for its sodas — but the pretzels are really what sets them apart.
Just think, the ultimate comfort food has taken them from an idea five years ago to multiple shops with 150 employees and a catering business.

Cisneros said Thirst is a “dreams and treats experience” where these little bites just sell themselves.
“We do about 95% of our business through the drive-thru, so it’s a little bit harder to hold a pretzel and drive,” he said. “So we’ve got pretzel bit cups with a slurpy lid and just convenient little poppin’ pretzel bites.”
They come in salted, cinnamon sugar or parmesan and you get free popcorn with every order.
They’ve got locations in Salt Lake, Millcreek and West Jordan.
And on Monday, a free cup of pretzel bites can be yours, no strings attached.
