SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – First Lady Abby Cox announced a statewide initiative Tuesday that called on Utahns to “Show Up” and spread empathy and compassion.
“Show Up is a rally cry, it’s about Utahns reaching out wherever they are, and however they lift others, serve others, and be willing to learn and appreciate different points of view,” Cox said.
She promoted four areas of focus which include social and emotional learning, unified sports through Special Olympics, foster care, and service.
Cox said she wanted to make sure children learn emotional intelligence skills to become effective leaders.
