Deals For Educators On National Teacher Appreciation Day
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Educators at all levels have had a rough year, so it’s time to say “Thank you” this National Teacher Appreciation Day — and one local restaurant is offering free food for teachers with no strings attached.
“They come in kind of skeptical like, ‘What’s the catch?’ said Blake Hannon with Curry Up Now. “And then they show us their ID and they’re just like, ‘So it’s free?’ And we say, ‘Yeah.’ We just want to show appreciation.”
Curry Up Now has two locations in the Salt Lake Valley — downtown SLC and Midvale — and this isn’t just a National Teacher Appreciation Day thing.
They’ve been honoring teachers with free food every Tuesday since February. And if you’re an educator, just take in your school ID every Tuesday through the end of May and you can get free food.
Some additional discounts were being offered for teachers on Tuesday, including discounts at Apple and Microsoft for several tech products.
Costco was offering a $30 Costco Shop Card to teachers who signed up as new members.
Places like Barnes & Noble, Joanne’s and Michael’s had deals up to 25% off, and even car rentals — if you’re looking to book a post-school year getaway, National and Hertz Rent-a-Car had up to 25% discounts.
If you’re looking for free food or at least a deal, check Sonic, Pieology Pizza and Home Chef to see if they’ve got something you’ll like on a day like Tuesday.
