SALT LAKE CITY — A man was arrested Saturday for stealing a yellow box truck in Salt Lake City that police said contained 11 totes of prescription medications, totaling an estimated $77,000.
The vehicle was taken from the parking lot of the Huntsman Mental Health Institute, located at 501 Chipeta Drive, around 9 a.m. Saturday.
University of Utah Police said 31-year-old Henry Ricky Sepulveda stole the truck containing the medications.
At approximately 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sepulveda turned himself in to police and admitted that he took the truck.
He was then booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.
The Salt Lake City Police Department located and recovered the truck shortly after Sepulveda turned himself in. Police said a separate individual was also arrested.
“A small amount of the medications that were in the back of the truck were located by SLCPD officers. The rest of the medication has still not been recovered,” read a press release from the University of Utah Police Department.
The incident remains under investigation.
