SALT LAKE CITY – May is National Foster Care Awareness month and Utah’s First Lady is marking the occasion by launching a new app designed to support foster families across the state.
“We are excited to formally launch the ‘Foster Friendly’ app in Utah,” First Lady Abby Cox said in a press conference.
The app was created by Utah’s Kids Belong and offers discounts to local businesses.
This comes as a part of the First Lady’s Show Up Initiative which works to bring people together despite differences.
One of the first Show Up business partners is the Hogle Zoo, which was the location for Tuesday’s launch event.
On the app the zoo will be offering a discounted annual family membership.
