Murray Police Identify Man Killed During Domestic Incident Response

MURRAY, Utah — Officials with the Murray Police Department have identified a 33-year-old man who was shot and killed by officers during a response to a domestic violence call.
Police responded to the home near 800 East Vine Street around 4:30 pm. Tuesday after a woman called 911, saying she believed her son was going to kill her.
“Upon arrival, officers were met by a male outside of the apartment when a confrontation ensued, and shots were exchanged,” Murray police said Wednesday.
Suspect Killed, Officer Injured Following Domestic Incident In Murray
Officers said the suspect, Willie T. Salazar, had an extensive history of domestic violence and was pronounced dead at the scene.
One officer was shot in the leg and was taken to an area hospital. He has since been released.
Two officers have been placed on administrative leave while the Officer-Involved Critical Incident Team investigates the shooting.
