REXBURG, Idaho – An Idaho judge set Chad Daybell’s murder trial to begin on November 8.
Police arrested Daybell on first-degree murder charges related to the deaths of JJ Vallow, Tylee Ryan & Tammy Daybell, Chad’s first wife.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges on June 9. It was exactly one year after police found the remains of the two children on his property.

Prosecutors told the judge during a court hearing Wednesday that they expected the trial to take five weeks.
A grand jury indicted Daybell and his wife Lori on eight federal charges including first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in connection to the deaths of Tammy Daybell, and Lori’s two children, Tylee Ryan and JJ Vallow.
The murder charges carry a penalty of death or life in prison but prosecutors have not decided whether to pursue the death penalty.
A judge paused Vallow’s case after she was declared incompetent to stand trial. As a result, the court ordered treatment to restore her mental competency.
