Crews Respond To New Fire In Uintah County

VERNAL, Utah — Crews have responded to a new fire located southeast of Vernal in Uintah County.
The Snake John Fire reached 100% containment just before 2 p.m. Sunday, according to state fire officials.
“Crews will continue to secure the fire perimeter this afternoon and expect increased containment tonight,” read a tweet from Utah Fire Info.

Some nearby oil and gas infrastructure was being threatened by the blaze, but as of Saturday morning, firefighters said that was no longer the case.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
