MOHAVE COUNTY, Ariz. — The Lime Fire has burned an estimated 3,000 acres near the Utah-Arizona border, and crews temporarily closed both directions of Interstate 15 Tuesday morning.
I-15 reopened around 6 a.m. and officials asked the public to drive cautiously near milepost 25 as firefighters work on both sides of the interstate.
The fire was reported Monday night and gusty and erratic winds created issues with containment. Crews closed both directions of I-15 as flames approached the roadway Monday.
Local resources are on scene and aerial resources have been requested. No cause has been given for the fire.
