Crews Respond To New Fire In Box Elder County

SNOWVILLE, Utah — A new wildfire has started in Box Elder County.
The Black Pine Fire, located near the Utah/Idaho border, has burned 230 acres and is 20% as of 8:47 p.m. Tuesday, according to Fire Marshal Corey Barton with Box Elder County Fire.
Barton said the blaze started just before noon and is burning in a very rural area near mile marker 3 on state Route 42, west of Snowville.

Kayli Yardley, prevention specialist with the Utah Division of Forestry Fire & State Lands, said several air resources have responded.
Officials said no structures are being threatened, but S.R. 42 has been closed.
So far, no injuries have been reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
