TOOELE COUNTY, Utah — Police have launched an investigation after fireworks damaged part of a neighborhood in Tooele County.
The incident occurred Saturday night near 500 West and 200 South.
Fire Chief Chris Shubert with the Tooele Fire Department said the fireworks got out of hand, catching the neighbor’s flower bed and tree on fire.
The fire then spread to a vehicle which burned up, according to Shubert. It also damaged some nearby homes.
Shubert said this happened in the approved firework boundaries for the county.
The incident has been turned over to the police department for investigation, with possible neglect charges on the table.
