Three People Hospitalized, Road Closed After Fiery Magna Crash

MAGNA, Utah — A fiery crash in Magna sent at least three people to the hospital in critical condition.
Police said four vehicles, including two semi-trucks, collided at the intersection of State Route 201 and 7200 West around 1 p.m. Monday.
Officials with the Utah Highway Patrol said a white pickup truck was traveling recklessly north on 7200 West and hit several vehicles as it crossed SR-201.
The truck ran a red light at the intersection and collided with a semi-truck traveling west.
The semi tried to avoid the collision, but hit a dump truck head-on as it sat at the red light on 7200 West.
Both of the large trucks caught fire.
UHP said the white pickup truck T-boned a Subaru that was stopped at the red light next to the dump truck.
SR-201 was closed in both directions for several hours while police investigated.
All lanes reopened to traffic just before 8 p.m.
