MURRAY, Utah — One person has died after getting hit by a car in Murray.
Police identified the victim Monday as 25-year-old Shane Halloran. They said he lived in Murray, but was originally from Pennsylvania.
The auto-pedestrian crash happened near 1100 East and Van Winkle Expressway just after 3:45 p.m. Sunday.
Sgt. Melody Cutler with the Unified Police Department said the 25-year-old was walking in the roadway when he was struck by a Nissan SUV traveling southbound.
The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police said they aren’t sure why Halloran was in the roadway.
Cutler said it’s “very highly unlikely” the driver will face any charges.
