SALT LAKE CITY — The Beehive State featured some of the world’s worst air quality on Friday as smoke from West Coast wildfires slammed into northern Utah.
Site IQAir, which partners with the United Nations Environmental Program, U.N. Habitat and Greenpeace, ranked Salt Lake City as having the world’s worst air quality Friday afternoon.
A cold front is moving across the state, dropping temperatures but bringing in smoke from several massive fires burning on the West Coast.
The largest active fire in the nation is the Dixie Fire, which was burned over 430,000 acres in Northern California.
