Back To School: Top Android Phones For Different Budgets
SALT LAKE CITY — Back-to-school time means your children might be looking for the latest and greatest smartphones.
Wired.com has a full breakdown of the best Android phones, but KSL’s Dan Spindle picked a handful on their list for a Top 5.
The best overall is the Google Pixel 4a for its great size, camera, battery — everything. At less than $350, it’s a bargain in the smartphone realm.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 is a strong runner-up but it costs more than twice Google’s phone at $800. It has a great chip inside and a great camera outside.
The next category honored “Another Great Phone,” but that’s what this is, and maybe you’ve never even heard of the OnePlus brand. Great reviews on this one, and it’s a little less than some of the higher-end Android smartphones.
Speaking of high end, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra has all the bells and whistles and gets high marks in the best camera category. But for $1,200, you’d better be getting the best.
On the other end of the budgetary spectrum is the Samsung Galaxy A32, which costs less than $300 and gets the job done.
The camera may not be the best, but it’ll save you $1,000 over the fancier model.
Wired also recommends that you get your phones unlocked so that way you can use whatever carrier you choose.
Just remember that if you sign up for a phone deal with a wireless contract, you’ll likely be locked into that carrier for the duration.
