Crews Respond To New Lightning-Caused Fire In Carbon County

CARBON COUNTY, Utah — Crews said they have made great progress on a new lightning-caused fire in Carbon County.
The Cold Springs Fire, located near the Roan Cliffs area, sparked Tuesday afternoon around 1 p.m. and was estimated at 20 acres.

Fire officials said two additional crews were called in sometime before 6:45 p.m. to assist the four engines and type 3 helicopter already on scene.
“The fire received moderate rain showers this afternoon,” read a tweet from Utah Fire Info. “Minimal new fire growth.”
No evacuation orders have been made and no structures appear to be threatened.
