SALT LAKE CITY — Students at the University of Utah and Utah Valley University are heading back to the classroom Monday, and KSL’s Dan Spindle gathered some of the top deals to help with all of the expensive campus life requires.
First, electronics. If you register, you can get deals from HP and Best Buy, and Apple is giving students a free set of AirPods when they purchase a qualifying MacBook or iPad.
Many restaurants don’t advertise if they offer a student discount but check with locations in college towns or near universities.
Students can get a free small drink at Chick-Fil-A with any purchase and their student ID. Chipotle will also give students a free drink with any purchase.
For technology, Amazon Prime has a student option that’s six months free, and half off after that. Students are also eligible to get the online version of Microsoft Office for free.
For preparing a dorm room, Bed, Bath and Beyond lets you sign up as a student and you get 20% off purchases.
And for a lot of different clothing deals for students, check a site called Unidays.
Those are the recommendations from CNBC but honestly, a lot of retailers have student deals and discounts, they just don’t advertise them — so it never hurts to ask.
