Salt Lake City woman killed in auto-pedestrian crash

SALT LAKE CITY — One woman is dead after an auto vs. pedestrian crash in the area of 1000 North and 900 West, according to the Salt Lake City Police Department.
Police said the crash happened around 11:10 p.m. Wednesday. The woman and her boyfriend had been drinking alcohol and got into a fight over a TV show, according to police.
The victim left the house, and officials said her boyfriend heard a loud crash a short time later.
He told police he saw a white car leaving the scene and found his girlfriend on the ground.

“Our officers arrived on the scene and found a female (and) attempted to perform life-saving operations,” said SLCPD Sgt. Keith Horrocks. “EMS arrived and declared the female was in fact deceased.”
Police said the driver returned to the scene and is cooperating with authorities. The victim’s identity has not been released and the crash is under investigation.
