Paraglider dies during jump in Draper

DRAPER, Utah — A paraglider has died after going down near the Airpark in Draper, according to Lt. Pat Evans with the Draper Police Department.
Sad update: Draper Police tell us the man in the hang glider has died. He said the crash happened shortly before 7:30 PM. Rescuers found him near the top of the mountain and tried to save him, but he passed away. They says he’s 20-30 years old and believe he’s from out of state. pic.twitter.com/2Lq6iDcAJ4

The call came in to DPD around 7:30 p.m. Thursday of a paraglider down.
Evans said bystanders and crews climbed the mountain to try to resuscitate the victim, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

The Utah Department of Public Safety’s helicopter was assisting to hoist the victim off the mountain and an investigation is ongoing.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim but did say he was a male in his 20-30s, and possibly from out of town.
The Airpark is located near 153000 S. Steep Mountain Drive.
