One arrested in connection to fatal West Jordan shooting

WEST JORDAN, Utah — A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection to a shooting that killed a 17-year-old in West Jordan on Monday.
Officials with the West Jordan Police Department said Cody Ivory was arrested and booked into jail on charges of homicide, aggravated robbery, felony discharge of a firearm and obstruction of justice.
Residents told KSL-TV they heard about a half-dozen shots and heard screaming around 10:30 a.m Monday at a home near 3500 West and 8200 South.

Officers responded and found the victim, who has been identified as Jacob Jeremy Hansen, 17. Hansen was taken to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.
Four nearby schools were put on a brief lockout Monday morning as a precaution while investigators were on scene.
Police have not said what led up to the shooting.
