One injured in stabbing at Payson High School

PAYSON, Utah — Police said they’re investigating a stabbing that occurred between two juveniles in front of Payson High School.
The incident happened around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Upon officers arrival, they found a juvenile male had been stabbed by another juvenile male who fled from the scene, according to Sgt. Noemi Sandoval with the Payson Police Department.
Officers from multiple agencies were then called out to determine what happened and who was involved.
A short time later, Sandoval said officers were able to identify the juvenile male who was alleged to be the suspect in the stabbing.
He was later found and detained for questioning.
Sandoval said the victim was transported to the hospital where he’s undergoing surgery, but his injuries are believed to be non life-threatening.
“There is no current threat to the public or student body,” read a Facebook post from the PPD.
The incident remains under investigation.
Police said the names of those involved will not be released because of their age.
