TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — Police announced Tuesday they had secured an arrest warrant for a homicide suspect as family and friends of the deceased gathered to reflect on a life cut short.
On Tuesday afternoon, officials with the Taylorsville Police Department announced via social media that a warrant for 34-year-old Manuel Omar Burciaga-Perea had been issued.
Family members said Gabriela Sifuentes Castilla, also known by over-the-air name Gaby Ramos, had been shot by Burciaga-Perea early Sunday morning after an apparent argument that began over an engagement ring.

On Tuesday evening, they gathered with dozens of friends of the 38-year-old to celebrate the woman’s life.
“Gaby, in the short amount of time she lived in Utah, touched many, many hearts,” one speaker told the crowd. “She was positive, she was happy, she was sunshine.”
Ramos was a host at local Spanish-language radio station “La Mas Picosita.”
Family members said they hoped Gaby’s case would serve as a “wake-up call.”
“If you see somebody in that situation, please try to get help,” said brother-in-law Juan Hernandez.
Police were still looking for Burciaga-Perea as of Tuesday evening and encouraged anyone with information to contact dispatch at 801-840-4000 while referencing Taylorsville PD case TY21-13472.
Ramos leaves behind a 9-year-old daughter, who family members said was told on Sunday evening by her dad that her mom died.
A GoFundMe* account has been set up to help raise money so Ramos’ body can be returned to Mexico.
