One dead, two injured after Logan Canyon crash

LOGAN, Utah — One woman died and two others, including a child, were injured in a crash that closed U.S. Highway 89 in Logan Canyon, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened around 8 a.m. Tuesday when a Dodge Caravan lost control, hit barriers on both sides of the road and spun into the path of a Ford F-350 pickup truck.
The adult female driver of the Dodge was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash while a child, who was also in the Dodge, was hospitalized with serious injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The driver of the Ford was also transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
Troopers closed both directions of U.S. 89 between Logan and Garden City while investigators were on scene. They said they are investigating road conditions as a contributing factor in the crash.
All lanes reopened around 11:15 a.m. Tuesday.
