LOGAN, Utah – Utah State University issued a safety alert Monday after police took in several reports of a possible voyeur.
The alert followed multiple reports to the Logan City Police Department of someone looking into windows over the past several months.
A news release said most of the incidents happened in the Adams Elementary School neighborhood near 400 North to 1000 North and 500 East to 800 East.
That specific area is not part of the USU campus, but police said many university students live in the area.
Police urged residents to report any suspicious behavior.
The release offered the following suggestions to protect against what police called a “crime of opportunity”:
- Report an emergency by calling 911 from anywhere. If you are on campus, you may also call USU Police at 435-797-1939. If you are off-campus, call Logan City Police at 435-753-7555.
- Lock your doors and windows when you leave and when you are home.
- Close your blinds after dark.
- Keep the exterior of your residence well lit.
- Pair up in groups while walking. Consider using the Utah State Safe App in order to ask USU Public Safety to track you as you walk to or from campus.
