BRIGHTON, Utah – The greatest snow on earth may not have arrived yet this season but that did not stop avid skiers and snowboarders from getting a head start.
A number of Utah’s resorts powered up the lifts Tuesday including Brighton for its 85th opening day.
A couple of hundred people waited in line at the lifts although there was not as much snow Tuesday as they were used to seeing on opening day in past years.
Wes Wood took the morning off from work to be one of the first in line. “I skateboarded a lot so I like to snowboard.”

Fresh snow was nowhere to be found but still, the excited skiers and snowboarders made the best of the day’s conditions.
Brighton and Solitude were the first resorts to open in 2021.
