SALT LAKE CITY – Flags full of color flew outside the Maverik Center Friday afternoon ahead of the first-ever Utah Grizzlies “Pride Night.”
The team dedicated Friday’s game to the LGBTQAI+ community to promote inclusivity and unity.
The games on Friday and Saturday are part of the team’s Unity Weekend.
Tickets for the games are available here.
Grizzlies’ Vice President, Jared Youngman, said the message was to make sure those in the LGBTQAI+ community know that they are welcome, safe, and supported by the team.
“Tonight, it’s not about hockey, it’s about the pride community and showing support and giving support and coming together as one and having a huge night,” Youngman said.
