UPDATE: William Mathew Jonides told Sandy police he killed his wife “in a fit of rage” before he called 911 and reported her death, according to probable cause documents.
The documents say police arrived and located Jonides and then searched the home at Montana Drive to find an adult woman in an upstairs bedroom with obvious signs of trauma. A Sandy Fire Department and medical crew also responded to the emergency call and confirmed the woman was dead.
Police said Jonides was taken to the Sandy City Police Department and informed of his rights and then made his statement about killing his wife in a fit of rage. Friday night police said a shotgun was involved in the killing.
