SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah — South Salt Lake police have made an arrest after one person died in a shooting early Saturday morning.
Police say they were dispatched about midnight to 3420 South State Street after reports of shots fired. The location is called Southern X-posure.
When officers arrived, they found one victim, an adult male in his 20s, had been shot.
The man was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to a social media post from South Salt Lake police.
In the video, police said a male suspect fled the area and had not been located. A description of the suspect was also very limited.
Just before 7 p.m., police shared two photos — one of a possible vehicle that left the crime scene after shots were fired, and the other of a person of interest in the case.
The person of interest was described as a man in his mid-twenties, approximately 6 feet tall, with short hair.
The vehicle is a 2007 Gold BMW Sport Utility Vehicle, with Utah license plate number U822UE.
Police said the vehicle is registered to an address in Murray.
“We are asking the public’s assistance in helping locate or identify the male person of interest or the vehicle,” read a Facebook post from the department.
Sunday morning police announced that 36-year-old Romalice Latrell Williams was located and arrested on aggravated murder charges related to the investigation at Southern X-posure.
“Thanks to the dedicated detectives that have worked non-stop following up on leads that ultimately led to the arrest of the suspect,” SSLPD Public Information Officer Danielle Croyle said. “A violent offender has been removed from the community in a timely manner.”
