UPDATE: Police identify wanted suspect from standoff Tuesday morning

SALT LAKE CITY— Police surrounded a trailer not far from the airport, in the industrial park at 4600 West 150 South, seeking a man who had fled from police. In a press release that man was identified as 27-year-old Julian Nordahl. With over a dozen cop cars and multiple policemen surrounding some trailers, Sgt. Wian of Salt Lake City Police says they Nordahl was a wanted suspect for a felony related charges.
According to the release, when contacted by officers, Nordahl fled and police chased him to the motorhome. Because of the possibly dangerous situation, SLCPD SWAT team, crisis negotiators, and social workers responded to the situation for a “peaceful outcome.”

Officers made multiple attempts to contact Nordahl but he never responded. The police response was eventually called off around 12 p.m. They do not believe Nordahl is a threat to the public at this time.
No injuries were reported, but this remains an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information regarding Nordahl’s whereabouts should call 801-799-3000 and reference SLCPD case 22-1827.
