Police and SWAT take suspect into custody after he barricaded himself in a home

SANDY, Utah— Sandy Police and SWAT took a suspect for aggravated assault into custody Monday after he had barricaded himself inside a home. The incident occurred at 400 East 10105 South, Sandy. According to police, the suspect had barricaded themselves in a nearby home around 3 p.m. By 4 p.m. Monday afternoon, police confirmed SWAT were on site to help with the situation.
Sgt. Swenson with Sandy City Police were able to remove everyone else out of the house which included one woman with mobility issues.
Police have asked the public to avoid the area.
