SLC police locate missing, endangered man

UPDATE: Police say they have located David An, 63, who was reported missing Monday night.
Officials with the Salt Lake City Police Department said An was located Tuesday morning thanks to alert community members.

SALT LAKE CITY — Police are asking for the public’s help in locating an endangered man who has been missing for almost a week.
Officials with the Salt Lake City Police Department say 63-year-old David An was last seen in the area of 280 East and 600 South on Jan. 11.
He was wearing a blue jacket, black baseball-style hat, and was seen carrying a blue suitcase and a brown suitcase.

An is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, approximately 200 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes.
Police say the 63-year-old has been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, clinical depression and Schizoaffective disorder.
“He hasn’t taken his medication in six days,” read a missing persons poster from the SLCPD.
Anyone with information on An’s whereabouts has been asked to call police at 801-799-3000 and reference case 22-9988.
