West Jordan fire burns duplex, injuring one

WEST JORDAN, Utah— One person was injured after a fire broke out at 9030 Kanyon Circle in West Jordan Wednesday evening. The victim was taken to a burn center for severe burns.

According to Battalion Chief, Clint Paxton says crews were fighting flames for some time since there were oxygen tanks inside the residence.

“The flames were so strong that they blew out the windows,” Paxton said.

The other half of the duplex was unharmed and residents were allowed back in.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
