Gov. Cox addresses key issues after his first year in office

SALT LAKE CITY— Gov. Spencer Cox addressed the state on Thursday evening addressing issues including the ongoing pandemic, education, taxes and the economy, elections, and a family initiative.
Cox, while acknowledging the difficulties of the recent surge in the pandemic focused more on what he called, “silver linings,” like the state’s low hospitalizations rate.
He thanked teachers, educators, and healthcare workers for their tireless efforts and urged others to show gratitude and respect.
Cox announced his efforts to remove required school fees for basic coursework needed for graduation.
Cox addressed the state economy currently braving their third year in a pandemic, taxes, and most importantly the rising costs due to inflation.
