When officers arrived they secured the area and began to search for Munson where he’d last been seen on the west side of the building. According to police, it appeared Munson had gotten in by prying a door open and then attempted to access the offices by using a tool, before leaving the building.
After a search of the area, police located Munson and chased him on foot before they were able to detain him.
According to Lowe, there was minimal damage to the school and police later confirmed the suspect caused damages totaling around $5,000.
Officers booked Munson into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail on charges of Burglary, Criminal Mischief, Theft, and Failure to Stop for an Officer.
