SANDY, Utah — Utah Amazon customers may find a few packages missing after one of the online delivery company’s trucks was stolen as a driver was making deliveries.
The Jan. 7 theft surfaced Tuesday because Sandy Police Department is still looking to identify the man they say was involved in the theft of an Amazon truck. Pictures of the suspect were taken by the Amazon vehicle’s dash camera, that so far have not helped police to him.
The driver was in the neighborhood of 600 East and Stonefly Drive in Sandy and making a delivery when his truck was stolen at approximateloy 2:30 p.m.
The Amazon driver reported the truck theft and then located it a few minutes later a few blocks away; the suspect was gone. Sgt. Greg Maffot with Sandy PD said it is believed packages are missing from the truck, though he said that was not confirmed.
Sandy police request that anyone who recognizes the man from the truck camera call detectives at 801.799.3000.
