DUCHESNE, Utah — A business in Duchesne was seriously damaged Tuesday after a truck slid off the roadway and crashed into the front of the building.
The incident happened at 179 East Main Street around 8:45 a.m.
Officials with the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office said the truck was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 40 when it slid off the roadway and struck the front of the RC Tire & Lube building.
“It was reported by witnesses that the truck was seen traveling above the posted speed limit,” read a Facebook post from the agency.
A “light covering of snow” was also said to be on the roadway at the time.
The building, as well as the truck, sustained serious damage, according to authorities.
The truck driver and passenger were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, while one person inside the store sustained minor cuts and scrapes.
Sheriff Travis Tucker with the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office said criminal charges against the truck driver are being screened at this time.
