Pickup truck driver arrested after crash in Pleasant Grove neighborhood

PLEASANT GROVE, Utah — One person was arrested Friday night after a two-vehicle crash in a residential neighborhood in Pleasant Grove.
The incident happened in the area of 1300 West and 1100 North around 6 p.m.
Capt. Britt Smith with the Pleasant Grove Police Department told KSL a silver Dodge Mega Cab pickup truck was traveling trough the intersection at speeds estimated between 80 to 100 miles per hour when it struck a Tesla.
The collision caused the pickup truck to go airborne, landing in a yard of a residence in that area, according to Smith.
The driver of the Tesla was extricated and transported to a local hospital after suffering broken bones. Luckily, Smith said the individual is in stable condition.
The driver of the pickup truck was arrested.
Smith said drugs and/or alcohol are believed to be a contributing factor in the crash.
1100 North was shut down in both directions for a time Friday while police investigated.
