Report: Fentanyl suspects still jailed

ST. GEORGE — Two suspects remain jailed without bail following a Jan. 10 traffic stop that led to the discovery of more than 5,066 grams of pure fentanyl tablets. According to the St. George News, the Drug Enforcement Administration said thats enough fentanyl to kills millions of people.
The jailed suspects — 21-year-old Jesus Guadalupe Navarro-Perez and 47-year Veronica Marquez-Franco — were taken into custody by the Washington County Drug Task Force and Department of Homeland Security following a traffic stop in Washington County. The residents of Rifle, Colorado were pulled over after suddenly crossing into an adjacent lane of travel while north on Interstate 15 that morning. A K-9 was brought to the scene and altered officers to the narcotics during a subsequent search. Navarro-Perez and Marquez-Franco have booked on charges of second-degree possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.
