Air Force prepares for ‘first-of-its-kind’ Super Bowl flyover

HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah— Major Kristin “BEO” Wolfe, from Hill AFB will be leading the F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team in their Super Bowl flyover.
Wolfe will be flying one of five aircraft representing the Air Force and their 75 years of service during the National Anthem at the Super Bowl on Feb. 13.
According to a release from the Hill Air Force Base, the flyover will be the “first-of-its-kind,” and feature:
-the F-35A Lightning II from Hill Air Force Base, Utah
– a P-51 Mustang from the Air Force Heritage Flight Foundation, Chino, California
– an A-10C Thunderbolt II from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona
– an F-16 Fighting Falcon from Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina
– an F-22A Raptor from Langley Air Force Base, Virginia
The release states, “The U.S. Air Force performs close to 1,000 flyovers a year which serve as a way to showcase the capabilities of our aircraft while also inspiring patriotism and future generations of aviation enthusiasts. These flyovers are done at no additional cost to the taxpayer and serve as time-over-target training for our pilots, aircrew and ground control teams.”
