SANDY, Utah — It was a magical day for a Utah couple and nursing staff at an Intermountain Healthcare hospital, after delivering a baby on a time and date that will only come around once in our lifetime.
And it turns out, one of the two nurses who delivered Lennon Mae Roberts at 2:22:22 p.m. on 2/22/22, already had a little luck on her side from just a few weeks ago.
The Labor and Delivery wing at Alta View Hospital is usually filled with pure joy of welcoming little ones into the world, but on Tuesday, extra cheers and screams filled the hallway right at 2:22 p.m.
“We have a famous, magical baby born today!” exclaimed registered nurse Heidi Price, with Intermountain Healthcare.
Parents Megan and Landon Roberts already knew this day would be special because Megan had scheduled her induction for February 22, 2022.
“She checked in, and we started joking right away that, let’s have this baby at 2:22 pm,” Price said. “And they were on board, and we joked about it all morning.”
Megan and Landon joined in the fun, but knew it would all be up to baby Lennon.
“We were thinking in the back of our heads like, ‘Oh, that would be kind of cool,’ but definitely not going to try and make that happen,” Landon said.
Their daughter apparently heard the jokes and delivered the punchline.
At 2:22 in the afternoon, with Megan giving one last push, Lennon Mae made it into the world.
“The whole floor heard us scream,” Price recounted. “Everybody knew the birth time because there was so much screaming in that room.”
Megan said it was big celebration.
“It was kind of hilarious that it really happened at that time. And then, when they looked back later at the time stamp, it was 2:22 and 22 seconds, too. So, it was just, everything lined up,” she said.
And by chance, Price just so happens to have experience delivering babies on rare dates and times.
“Earlier in the month on February 2, on 2/02, I delivered a baby at 2:22,” Price said, adding, “So, apparently two is my lucky number to take to Vegas!”
While Lennon’s lucky number is almost certainly two as well, she’s actually child number three for Megan and Landon.
And now, mom and dad are feeling like the luckiest parents to a perfect little newborn who will always have a special birthday to celebrate.
“I’m also cheering, like, ‘Heck yeah, our girl’s here!’ At an amazing time and everything, too,” Landon reacted. “It was a really good feeling to be in there with everyone so happy.”
“It was awesome,” Megan added. “It was just fun to have such positive, good energy. Everyone was just so excited. So, it was extra fun.”
Another little girl made her entrance at a special time Tuesday.
Brandon and Allyson Montague welcomed their daughter, Clair Ivy Montague, at 2:22 a.m. She came in weighing 7 pounds 7 ounces.
