SALT LAKE COUNTY — Traffic was temporarily disrupted Saturday morning after a bull moose got onto Interstate 80.
Crews with the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources responded to the area between the Lamb’s Canyon exit and the East Canyon exit around 8:30 a.m.
They worked to tranquilize and move the moose after it was found in the median.
A lane of traffic was closed while troopers and wildlife officers helped the animal.
DWR officials said the moose was eventually loaded into a trailer and relocated to a location “with better moose habitat,” away from the freeway.
Our officers and biologists were able to successfully relocate the bull moose from the I-80 median. Thanks to UHP for their help with traffic! https://t.co/bwhUT5KbXn pic.twitter.com/ooJqK0O2Wt
