US Postal Service hosting job fairs on Friday, Saturday

SALT LAKE CITY – The U.S. Postal Service put the help wanted sign out in Salt Lake City and set two job fairs for Friday and Saturday.
They run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the General Mail Facility in Salt Lake City located just off 1760 West and 21st South.
Applications are also accepted online at www.usps.com/careers.
USPS needs city carrier assistants, rural carrier associates, and mail processing clerks. Applicants must be 18 years old and pass drug screening and a criminal background check.
Starting pay could be up to $19 an hour plus benefits that include regular pay increases, paid vacation time off, health insurance, and the potential for advancement.
A check at the job website Indeed showed the average job in the laborer category paid an average of $15.73 an hour.
Delivery Drivers average a little more at $17.55 an hour.
