Fatal crash in Eagle Mountain between motorcycle and pedestrian

EAGLE MOUNTAIN, Utah — A 19-year-old pedestrian did not survive after being hit by a dirt bike, according to Utah County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver of the bike, a 14-year-old male, was traveling at a high rate of speed and ran a stop sign, the sheriff’s office told KSL TV. The crash occurred Friday shortly before 5 p.m.
The 19-year-old male was hit by the bike while in a crosswalk at the intersection of Porter’s Crossing and Evans Ranch Drive, they said. He went airborne and landed about 50 feet away.
Authorities say the 14-year-old on the bike slid about 200 feet on the ground.

The sheriff’s office said in a news release that bystanders administered CPR to the 19-year-old who sustained significant trauma and Unified Fire Authority paramedics treated both involved at the scene.
Utah County Sheriff’s Office said the 19-year-old was transported by medical helicopter and was pronounced dead at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray. The driver was in serious condition, but expected to recover, according to the agency.
The 19-year-old was identified Saturday as Caelan Lewis of Eagle Mountain.
